Successful opening weekend
Halifax – Monday, March 9th, 2015
Condo units in the “Pavilion at South Park” development across from the Halifax Public Garden are proving to be exceptionally popular, with 80 percent of the units being reserved on opening weekend.
Following a reception on Wednesday last week, the spectacular presentation centre in the former Radio Room of the old CBC building on South Park Street, opened to online registered guests for two days followed by a grand opening weekend to the public. Condominium pricing was increased on a daily basis for units not spoken for at the close of each day, resulting in the 80% commitment in the project by end of day Sunday.
Pricing started at just under $300,000.00 and caps at close to 4 million in the project jointly marketed by Southwest Properties and Dunn Davis Stewart Group. Condo unit sizes vary and the purchasing profile to date has been active professionals planning for future residence.
Pavilion is targeting LEED® Gold certification as Southwest’s Chairman and CEO, Jim Spatz, is committed to managing and constructing buildings that are environmentally responsible.
Pavilion will take shape on the corner of South Park and Sackville overlooking two recognized historic sites, the Public Gardens and Citadel Hill. The condos offer the finest location, finishes and sustainable attributes and will be home to the YMCA’s 70,000-square-foot community centre. The multi-level facility will include an aquatic centre, gymnasium, indoor track, plus fitness areas and program studios.
Southwest Properties will bring the two building, mixed-use development to life. The Pavilion name pays homage to the original entrance gates of the Halifax Public Gardens. The rental building within the development has yet to be named. The anticipated opening date for Pavilion is early 2018. Construction start is scheduled for fall 2015.
The presentation centre on South Park Street is now open weekdays between 9:00 am – 7:30 pm and weekends from noon to 5:00 pm.
